Hi All,
I have a PRS-700 that I am very happy with. All of my books are in PDF format and the PRS-700 does a great job reflowing most PDF files. The zoom features would be very nice if it remained zoomed in when I go to the next page. Does anyone knows if this is planned as an update to the prs-700 or is it going to stay as it is, resetting after every page turn? Thanks. - DTG |

That don't sound right. It doesn't happen on the 505, but I don't know about the 700.

I don't think the zoom feature was created with multi-page reading in mind (rather, zooming into images). Also, if you are zoomed into the bottom right of a page, when you turned the page you would be on its bottom right. I think you would want to be on the top left?
The ability to increase/decrease font size, on the other hand, was developed with multi-page reading in mind. Have you tried increasing the font size on the PDFs? And, from what I've read concerning user requests/problems/etc., I don't think this is something that is in high demand. So, unless it's like flicking a switch in the software - probably not going to be implemented before the other issues people are having are taken care of. J |

he's not talking about the font size (S-M-L) but the unique
ability of the 700 to actually ZOOM in on PDFs' (pixel by pixel) Sony has the recieved the request, so only time will tell if the save zoom state function will be added to the next firmware. My suspecion tells me yes because its just an extra instruction set to add. The only caveat would be that the PDF would have to be consistantly uniform page for page and the page turn would delay due to the re-zooming of every page redraw... |

PDF optimization for PRS-700?
Server ... I notice you have the PRS-700 and use it with PDF files. Any suggestions or tips on how you best optimize your PDF files for reading on the 700? Thanks a bunch!

AndyBaby has a DirectLINK in his SIG that gets you to BookDesigner.
Most of my books are PDFs and some need tweaking. I use a combination of Nitro, bookdesigner and calibre to optimize my reading materials. you might want to also look at the wikipedia too |
