Oh no! Paul Harvey has passed away!
So sad. I used to love listening to his radio shows.

I enjoyed the many human interest stories he would report, stuff you couldn't hear about anywhere else. Was great entertainment on the road

Paul Harvey was a treasure. His style of writing and delivery were unique and will be missed. Many have tried to follow, but none have succeeded.
His style shifted a while back when his wife passed away and his recent health problems started about that time. For years I have stopped what I was doing at 11:45 am (Eastern Time) to listen to his "Rest of the Story." Thankfully there are air checks (copies of his broadcasts recorded as they were originally presented) available on CD. The best book about his stories was Paul Aurandt's Paul Harvey's the Rest of the Story. It is out-of-print and hopefully they will reprint it again. |

"And now the rest of the story."
What an interesting and loveable character. I grew up anxious to hear his radio program every morning in the 70's (maybe earlier) and was surprised and pleased to occasionally hear him even in recent years. I'll never forget him. "Good day!" |
