PRS-T1 price T1 increased?

I bumped in this article that said that one year ago one could buy a T1 for under 100 euro, but I looked up and in Europe today after one year it cost more..
it is the first time in the history of the techonology that one model cost more after a new model come up?

My friend found some T1s at Target the other day on clearance for 36.99. I asked her how many she bought.

We still have T1's available here in some Best Buy and Future Shop stores. It's still the same price, hasn't been increased ($119.99) and they also have some prs600s (refurbished) online at Best Buy for $139.97. So no increases here, the T1 went down $10 since I bought it this spring.

Looking at the pricewatch of tweakers.net, this indeed shows an upgoing trend for the PRS-T1:

I guess this might have something to do that shops that are really 'into e-readers' have discontinued the PRS-T1 (look at bol.com in the Netherlands), and that the only available shops that still carry this devices have maintained their already high price.

Look at Salland.eu, they only have a few ereaders, and only the Sony and Pocketbook are of better known brands. I also saw the Sony at Otto.nl, who carries only this ereader.

The red one has increased in value at Amazon uk, was £140 now there are two at £150 and £200.

Looks like Target of gone NOOK mad, and are quickly getting rid of all their other readers at very low prices!

My Target had the same price but they were REFERBS! Best Buy has T1 for $89.99 on sale NEW!

It was about July that I bought 1 closeout priced T1 at Best Buy liking it enough to buy 2 more at Target for lower closeout price. It is a great reader.

There's not many places you can buy them new in the UK now, mainly from marketplace sellers on Amazon & Play, none of the big retailers, Comet, John Lewis etc have them (Comet has a listing for a T1 at £130, but no stock).

What I'd say is a bit worrying for Sony is that none of these big retailers even stock the PRS-T2. You can find Kindles, Kobos and now Nooks, but all I could see outside the Sony store was a PRS-350 for £100 at Currys!

Argos Outlet on ebay has refurbished T1s for sale at £97.50. Not really a bargain considering the new Kobo Glo is only £1.50 dearer.
