Wireless Web and Bluetooth
Is it possible to connect to the internet with just a Bluetooth equipped Palm? I know people do it through their Bluetooth cellphones but I am wondering if I can saves some money by skipping a WiFI equipped Palm and just getting a Palm E2.
So here is the senario, if I have a Bluetooth computer that is connected to the Internet could I get on the internet with a Bluetooth Palm by connecting to that computer via Bluetooth? |

Yes, when you pair the device (on Windows anyway), one of the services to activate should be Internet access (I think it was called "Internet Pass-through" but don't quote me on that). Your PDA would then be able to connect to the Internet by connecting to your PC. (I'm pretty sure there's Mac OS X and Linux ways to do this, too.)
You could also get a Bluetooth access point, which acts similarly to a WiFi access point, but with BlueTooth instead of the 802.11 protocol(s). These normally cost more money than a PC BlueTooth adapter, and would only be useful if you have a network. |

Thank you very much Traecer Prime, that answers my question. I did want to be sure, all the examples I was able to find talked only about connecting to a cellphone.
This is very good news, it opens up either a the E2 or T5 for consideration if Palm does not release a WiFi equipped PDA soon. ![]() |

Don't forget I've also written a very detailed HOWTO that describes how to do this (mostly focused on Linux and Unix, but applies to Windows as well).

PalmZone.net Palm Bluetooth Guide
We have written a complete guide on how to do this via three different methods. The most popular using Windows built-in Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). See the PalmZone.net Palm Bluetooth Guide here:
