HELP! Lines on my PRS-700!

Firstly, NO, I didn't not drop my reader.

My brother was using it on the couch, testing out a PDF becuase he was thinking about getting one, when all of a sudden these weird evenly spaced lines appeared on the screen.

I am freaking out, but I am not sure if it is a hardware issue? When in normal orrientation, the lines appear vertical. When in horozontal orrentation, they also appear vertical if you were viewing the reader horizontally. If that make sense?

It just seems very weird?! Is my unit broken, I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can find my camera. Has anyone else experianced this?

Also, when changing a page, during part of the flash, the lines disappear for a moment, and you can see the screen normally, but in the same amount of time, they are back.

Give Sony a call. Sounds like it may need to go in for repair.

Try master reset with no memory cards inserted and reboot the system.

Failing that, you may need to reflash your book

How do I do that? There is no firmware on the website?

The reset button should be a little pinhole on the back of the 700. As for the firmware, you cannot reflash as there is no firmware updates for it yet. So the best you can do is the reset button. If that does not work, give Sony a call and tell them what's going on. It will then need to go in for warranty repair/replacement.

must have been a bad image rom... if there was a flash update, i'm sure it
would have cured the issue. Then again, better to be safe than sorry by
swapping the unit.
