Looking for book...

Maybe someone can help me... I am looking for a sci-fi book I have read in my childhood. The story goes around Dogs that evolved after "do not remember what", there is also something about ants, that if you cover the ant hill over winter months they will not forget anything and they started evolving as well. Some other things I remember about story line going around a boy who was brought up by animals/dogs and started reinventing "bow" and killed first bird in so many years and it shocked animals/dogs. I know I dont give much to go on, but it had something to do with classic writers from 60-70's. It might have been called "The Dogs" or "the City" or something like that.

Sounds like "City" by Clifford D. Simak.

Simak wrote City in 1952, renewed the copyright in 1980 and he died in 1988, so I don't think it's public domain. I haven't been able to find it anywhere as a commercial ebook, although it is available from Amazon in pbook format.

EDIT: No, wait, even the pbook at Amazon is out of stock.

The current publisher, Old Earth Books, appears to be a very small publisher and they don't appear to offer any ebooks. I suppose you could email them to see if/when they might do ebooks. Otherwise your only option is probably to get a pbook copy & scan it for yourself.
