Why PalmSource could rank top again thanks to Linux

PalmSource is not all about doom and gloom. David Beers has some persuasive arguments why PalmSource could soon celebrate a cheerful comeback with the migration of Palm OS over to Linux.

Quote:
As PalmSource executives begin to speak more freely about the company's reasons for adopting Linux, it is becoming clear that an open-souce future could be very good to the Palm OS -- while PalmSource itself could play the same pivotal role in the Linux mobile device market that Red Hat played during the early years of the Linux server market.

Great find Alex, a very interesting read that makes a very strong argument for Palm OS for Linux. Contrary to a lot of the gloom and doom and people putting nails in Palm and PalmSource's coffins, there is gathering evidence that this was the right move.

Let's hope that they under-promised with their timeline and will surprise us all with an early release.

Huuummm... My LifeDrive's PIM apps coupled with my Zaurus SL-C760's screen and keyboard.

Definately something I'd get.

I would have LOVED to have one of those Zaurus' with a PalmOS! Egads, that thought is enough to make me drool !!! But alas, it has naught for happen'in.

Ah well. I'll jsut ahve to make due with that hx2755 until PalmSource can pick themselves up by the bootstraps and get moving on out again.
