Newbie from Atlanta
Hi! My husband ordered a Kindle for me as a Valentine's Day gift, and today I got the good news that I'll get the Kindle 2.

I've been glued to Engadget's coverage of the Amazon press conference all morning. Exciting stuff!

Thanks for this forum. I just joined on Saturday, and have already learned a lot.

No need to worry, I believe that desertgrandma and I have pretty much learnt them how to translate Southernisms. Back in Oct, after another member, Slayda, retired and had free time, we had a picnic gathering at Desoto Falls in north Ala, up near Ft. Payne. BookishDreamer came in from ATL for that, I'm hoping somebody will organize another get-together in the spring.

Thanks so much for all the nice welcome notes! I can't wait to get my K2 so I might have something to contribute here. Meanwhile, I'm trying to soak up all the info I can about locating and downloading books.

Guess I'll have to wait for accessories... the companies that sell covers, cases and skins will now have to adapt their designs to the K2 dimensions!

Yea, but I am a transplanted New Englander... still a BoSox fan o' course.

You do know that once you get the central Florida the further south you go, the further north you get.

BTW: I think "learnt" is used in the UK alot too. Harry?
