Attack Bluetooth with a rifle

Like WiFi, Bluetooth is all around you. And of course that makes you a target (if you are the one using Bluetooth). Tom's Networking has a step-by-step guide explaining how to build a Bluetooth sniper rifle, a gun which can scan and attack Bluetooth devices from more than a mile away. The first version of the gun showed up at Defcon 2004, a hacker/computer security convention held annually in Las Vegas.

The only thing still missing is a nifty HUD guidance system that would automatically target my next victim

Wow, the next time I get my ears shot off during a call, I'll know how they did it!

But I'll only have 2 attempts to find out.

You'll probably want to be careful doing this in the USA... Carrying around a "sniper rifle" is not a smart thing, given the general paranoia...

Other than that, it's an interesting idea, and one that proves you should be very cautious using Bluetooth.

Well I think it is save to argue that using this rifle could cause paranoia anywhere, not only in the US. Just look at the picture. You would have to be insane if you really wanted to "shoot" with that thing at Bluetooth victims.
