Anyone know anything about Elizabethan Madrigal music?
I think this piece may be in French. I can't tell for certain, but I would very much like to find out if any of their work is available. The person who made the video didn't credit the singers (rats!!).
If anyone recognizes it, or can give me enough information from the lyrics or something, I might be able to research it on the net. HELP!!! |

Cute video, but i can't help getting the feeling that 'cute kitten' was trying to find the little bunny's neck so he could shake him like a rag doll!

Yeah, I don't think it was a particularly good time for the bunny. But, really, don't even watch the video. Just someone, please, know what group is singing the song. There's karma in it for whoever comes up with the right answer!!!

The song is "Il est bel et bon" by Pierre Passereau (yes, it is in French). The recording might be by the King's Singers.

to be even pickier, the tune seems to have been written in 1534. So since Elizabeth didn't become queen till 1558, it wasn't Elizabethan either way.
![]() Youtube does have it posted as by the Kings singers, so it may well be so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7tFM...eature=related The nice little wiki about him says that song is intended to copy the clucking of chickens, which is quite sweet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Passereau |
