mobicreator is asking for Office 2000 and I don't have this program

Hi, I have my book created and accepted as OK to publish, and created an an account with mobi, plus used the mobi file to post the ebook to Kindle, but now I want to use mobi to distribute to other publishers. The mobi program at this point in the process Welcome to Mobipocket eBookBase 1.0 is asking for office 2000 for some reason. I don't have any office programs on my PC. Is there a way to get around this request for an office program and get my book through the mobi system to distribute to others? Thanks, Ed.

The MobiPocket Forums include a forum on eBookbase, but you probably won't get an answer from there until Monday. I did not find any relevant existing threads in that forum, but perhaps I am not searching for the right terms.

Are you sure it isn't Internet Explorer that is asking for Office 2000? Perhaps this is registered as the program to use for some document types. MobiPocket Creator does require MS Word to import DOC files, but I don't know why that would matter.

One option that might help (since you have the PRC file already) is FTP upload, see Difficulty in uploading new books.

Thanks again for your help. I switched to firefox and that let me work through the other issues that came up, but at least I could read what the issues were. So thanks, Ed.
