most recent new owners?

I ordered my DR 1000S on December 19, and my status is still Pending credit card verification...
Is there anybody who ordered the DR around that date and has already received it?

I ordered on Jan 2nd and mine is still "preparing for dispatch". I contacted them last week about when mine would be shipped, the reply I received said it would be before the 16th. I also looked at ereader outfitters and their site also mentioned that orders would ship this week. Makes me wonder if they're all waiting for stock from whoever does the manufacturing.

I think I'd email them to ask about your status though. My transaction went very quickly from payment to dispatch.

I think they've fixed it, but I remember that the iRex shop at one time had a problem where orders would get stuck with a status of "pending credit card verification..." even after they had proceeded further with the order. Maybe your order, being an older one, was affected. I don't remember the exact time frame for when their site was having this problem.

hm... mine is still pending... what does that even mean? they've already charged my credit card so what's to verify?
Anyhow... to which email do you send questions about order status?

I think you can just open a ticket on their tech support site and mention your order number. My guess is that the status is just "stuck" and it's progressed beyond that, maybe even shipped by now.

It looks like their online system is not as userfriendly as all the other online shops.

I ordered the Reader+protective cover on 22nd Dec, and the credit card pending lasts till I email them why the can not resolve this. After only one working day, my status get updated to paid and soon to "preparing for dispatch". ANd they also reply me by email notifying the status.

However, another 10+ days passed and the preparing for dispatch status unchanged. I email them again and get the status to partially dispatch. It looks like the cover is out of supply, and they ship my Reader to me first.

My suggestion, just email them, otherwise their website only provide 0 information on what is going wroing.

Hope all can enjoy the Reader soon~~~

hey buddy I got mine today with cover, and I ordered the same day you did, just to give you the heads up. But as per here I can't find any basic manual and to quote myself:
"Just got my reader today as well, first off I really dislike the lack of a basic piece of paper detailing first run actions, I currently have my device frozen at "goodbye" "in a few seconds, the device will turn off" and I get the "sqllite library is missing" error too."

I should get it tomorrow, if I can trust in the UPS tracking system....

any suggestions what should(n't) I do when I get it?

Hey buddy, the device works fine but NOT the companion software, I will follow the advice of a friend here to work this out. THEY ARE INEXCUSABLE FOR NOT INCLUDING A PRINTED QUICKSTART GUIDE. Like the friend above suggested get the manual from there first off and read it, they don't even include the manual within the device, can you believe that? A, what else, don't take the sd card out, don't press the buttons just touch them because they are capasitance, DO NOT (this is a known bug) go into full page view with you sensors all locked because you ll have to use the reset button (very useful btw in the bottom right of the device you can press it with the end of the wacom pen). And enjoy your purchase!!! I was planning to write my impressions here but I haven't had time yet.

I completely ignore the companion software - I can not see any value in it - it is easier just to create folders in finder or in explorer and copy your stuff there

Hey david,

as per another thread I posted in I have followed a friends advice here and restored my sd card and haven right now the companion software running too, but I will have to agree with you I currently see not much use to it. For tranfering files definitely finder or explorer windows are the way to go. Maybe, just maybe the inbox feature might be of some worth via the companion software.
