Question Custom language in meta-data

Hello,

I downloaded The Little Prince, which was translated into Interslavic (link here, in case anyone is interested), however I cannot add Interslavic or Interslavic (Latin) to the book meta-data, as I get the following error:

calibre, version 8.12.0
ERROR: Unknown language: The language Interslavic is not recognized

Is there a way to create a custom language, so I can save books written in Interslavic to Calibre?

Thanks!

Can you detail exactly how you are doing this?
I see that they are both pdf files, so I assume you have converted to epub?

==Edit==
When I add
to the opf file, there were no errors.

The language field in calibre supports only ISO 639 language codes. You can of curse create your own custom field containing whatever you want, but it wont be used to set language metadata in books.

Then I'm a bit confused, Interslavic has ISO 639-3 assigned to it: isv.
Obviously, that's not fully ISO 639, but then why languages like Interglossa, which only have ISO 639-3 assigned to them (and not any other like ISO 639-1, ...) are in Calibre?

interslavic was added to ISO 639 only about a year ago. Be patient, when it makes it into upstream ISO 639 databases, calibre will gain support for it automatically.

Ah well, that explains it, apologies was just confused by one constructed language being there, while a different one wasn't.

Thanks, and thanks for all your work on Calibre.
