image was "sliced" during pdf to epub conversion

Hi; I am always using Calibre to convert pdf to reflowable epub format for easier reading in my iPad. However, I find it strange that the pdf file as attached produced an epub where the images are kind of "sliced" in multiple pieces.

update. I found the root cause. The original image was spliced and hence, Calibre correctly converted it. Sorry for the confusion.
