Calibre Recycle Bin

When I delete a book in Calibre, I do not see it in my Win11 notebook's recycle bin. The Calibre library is on external SSD USB drive. I do not have the the external drive set to "do not send files to recycle bin". Does Calibre delete book files permanently without going to bin?

Calibre does not use the regular recycle bin (initially).
Right click the delete Book icon: restore recently deleted

Thanks, never saw that in the Remove dropdown. I guess when you click on remove permanently they never go to the recycle bin but just "go away".

The default to keep deleted eBooks in calibre's trash is 2 weeks. You can change that to a different time limit.

If you exit the Calibre program, the trash is emptied.

I believe that depends on the options configured for the recycle bin in calibre

Yes it does. If you don't change the settings, then calibre defaults to two weeks. For anyone who thinks two weeks is too long, I suggest one week.

Sometimes it take that long (or longer ) to realize you messed up (and you never got around to doing a Library backup )
