Caravaning

I thought I would as if any members have a caravan or RV and do you go away much? As I have a small 5th wheel and we go to France twice a year touring for about 6 weeks at a time and that is the main reason I have bought reader as I read a lot at home and always run out of books when Im away as you can only take so many and hubby moans as I seem to take more every time we go away but still run out

Not yet, but I intend to purchase one as we get closer to retirement. I'm planning on renting an RV this summer and taking at least 3 weeks vacation in it. The Kindle and Sony Reader -- along with at least one laptop -- will definitely be part of our take-along gear.

When I win the lottery, I'm buying a nice yacht to cruise up and down the East Coast in. And my eBook reader will fit in nicely.

Does having a cart behind my bike count? It will hold the tent when we're biking...

(and it has been across Switzerland already!)

I have a fond dream of someday having something about the size of a VW Bus with solar panels on the roof, powered by biodiesel, in which I could wander around the countryside, living wherever I pleased. Not being able to take all my books with me had presented an obstacle to this vision in the past, but that's becoming less and less an issue.

I think the appeal has something to do with not being able to fit any kids into the van....

Wow, that´s impressive!
We spend most of our Easter holidays in Switzerland too (the Italian part). We used to have an old (very old!) VW we used as camper, since it broke down we simply rent a camper when we want to spend some days abroad.

We cheated and went down the river (not up the river) Rhine... It was a lovely vacation, around 500km (if I recall correctly), and mostly across small roads and byways. I can only remember once having to bike alongside (on a biker path) a major road.

We want to rent a camper one of these holidays and go up north, towards the North Cape. I'm not someone who likes to stand still at one location for too long (unless it's for a skiing holiday). So, a caravan is out.

Yes, me too. An alternative to camping I really like is to go houseboating: You drive to the destination where the houseboat is located. Then you go on board, get some instructions about traffic rules on rivers and on how to handle your boat and Cast off!!

That photo is only about 100 meters from downtown Vancouver, so lots of wifi there. Maybe that's why he came in close to shore, needing to catch up on interwebs news or get an MR fix.
