I'm looking for a particular link address in all books. Putting it in the search bar returns no results. At least one book in the library (and probably many more) contain the link embedded in the html. I'm assuming the search bar only searches the visibile text? Is there any way to do this without having to create my own python script from scratch?

Have you tried using the full text search if you have it enabled? Click on the FT on the left end of the search bar. For instance, I searched for a web address in a library of ~16K books. See the attached image. Note that I wrapped the URL in "....".

Yes. I tried this. If I'm seeing correctly, you searched for an address within the visible text of a book. I'm looking for a link, hidden in the code, in the html itself, not visible. I've written a python script as a bandaid that goes through all epubs using zipfile, but it would be nice to do this within Calibre.

The Quality Check plugin allows you to search HTML content for epub books.
