KindleSyncMetadataCache.xml
I use this file a LOT it has all the metadata on my library at the current time. It tells me which of my purchased books I still have, which documents I sent to Amazon, and their ASIN numbers.
The information in this document is invaluable to me for importing into my Calibre library. I have files that keep track of the books I have read/purchased/borrowed and deleted it tells me what docs I sent to my Kindle, and when. Amazon has changed how they show the books and docs in Content & Devices, it is impossible to copy/paste into excell a current list. It is an impossible task for anyone with a decent sized library - let alone the collections AND documents. Now, I have a list of all the books, all the docs, and all my Kindle Unlimiteds, I have the ASINs, the Pub/send to Kindle dates, the purchase dates, the publisher and published dates. AND Their ASIN which is invaluable in being able to properly and quickly match them with their entries in Calibre. Without those ASINs, it would be hours to match up the list. Then there is the "Synced_Collections.db" file this was a new edition (along with the documents getting listed and downloaded in K4PC) and NOW I can finally keep track of my collections in Calibre. That relies on the ASIN for the books as well. Before getting that file, I could never keep track of my Kindle Collections. I will be devistated and lost as to what to do if these two files are changed in a way that makes them lose their valuable information in keeping my library properly cataloged. I am learning that the newer updates to K4PC are obscuring the ASINs with some random token id? It doesn't differentiate betweek a library book, a Kindle Unlimited or a purchase (Not a huge deal). Is this true? Is Amazon changing this file so that the ASIN's are no longer seen? Amazon has done this with everything, fixing it so you don't get a description or an ASIN but some random string of characters. Can someone let me know if this is something that is GOING to happen? |
