I need help with Kroreader on my Kindle
I have made my Kindle Jailbreak with Kroreader on there and some how it did an update and I don’t know how it did an update with WiFi off and I was told to redo the Jailbreak:
So I was watching a YouTube video and doing the Jailbreak and I got to the part where you run the Hotfix and I keep getting an error message saying Application error and I don’t know what to do and I attached a picture what I am seeing |

Perhaps you should read the bottom lines of the page? The one where it says (Error dialog is fine) (Just press close and keep waiting!) if I remember correctly.
This would likely have been better posted in the WinterBreak thread since it has absolutely nothing to do with KOReader. And really, considering the number of people who have caused themselves issues by watching YouTube videos instead of simply following the step by step instructions on the WinterBreak page, I would not recommend following any YouTube videos unless you want to brick your Kindle. |

yes, but reading is hard. Best to let someone else do it for you, even if they don't give the full details. /s

One acquaintance of mine bricked his ereader trying to install a antique Android package for a different model. He then got an µSD card image from me to try to recover his Kobo. Pretty much the first step was unzipping the file using 7Zip or equivalent on Windows, copying the image to a local directory and using a disk image writing tool to image the new µSD card. Sadly he missed the need to unzip the archive to a local directory and tried dragging and dropping the image file from Windows builtin unzip to the writing tool. When I looked at one of his µSD cards, he said no errors were seen during the writing process but his ereader would not boot with the new µSD card inserted. I took a quick look using a partition editing tool which claimed no valid partitions were found. Looking at 0x200 into the image where Kobo stores serial numbers, showed nothing that look even vaguely like a Kobo serial number. Extracting the image to a local directory using 7-Zip, editing the image to insert his serial number and then writing to the new µSD card worked and his ereader happily booted. |
