Kindle Oasis 8th gen reboots whenever put to sleep

I have an 8th Gen Oasis which I adore. Recently, for some reason, when reading a book and I decide to either press power button or close the cover to sleep the device, it reboots and loses progress in my book. I've tried hard resets, factory resets, all the tricks I'm at least aware of.

Desperately, I decided to jailbreak to see what would happen. Oddly, when I launch and read/sleep device while in KOreader, this behavior significantly improved for about 5 or 6 sleep/wake cycles between reading. But it did come back. I've tried re-installing latest firmware and same issue persists.

Any ideas? Or is there a way to truly format and re-install Kindle OS similar to Windows?

Maybe it's time to finally put down my 2016 Oasis. I just love the device. It's so lite, small, and has buttons. It was perfect. ...bummed...

It has been nearly 10 years since 2016. The life of EMMC, the built-in storage device, is about to expire. The first generation of Oasis I have also had problems, which manifested as system lag. Therefore, either find a maintenance person to replace an EMMC, or replace the device.
Oasis 8th is indeed a classic generation, small, light, and with physical page turning keys.
2016年到现在已经将近10年了，Emmc也就是内置存储设备的寿命快到期了，我手上的一台Oasis一 代也出现了问题，表现为系统卡顿，所以，要么找到维修人员更换一块EMMC，要么就需要更换设 备了。
Oasis 8th确实是一代经典，小巧，轻盈，带实体翻页键。

I think it may be an issue with a recent update. I hadn't touched mine in months after jailbreaking it.
Now it's been doing this as well

Mine is a 9th gen kindle and also JUST started doing this recently I doubt it's a EMMC issue.

A recent update to what, though? Amazon hasn't put out a firmware update for anything 9th gen or older since 2023.

Sorry no I was stupid. My issue started after it connected to wifi. I thought it had updated. Checked my version and edited my comment where I mentioned I thought it updated but didn't reread the whole thing. I was wrong its still on the same version.

It was fine till I turned off airplane mode connected to wifi and left it alone for a bit then it started to do this.
