kindle Update 5.18.1 double tap - There?
Anyone get the 'double tap' feature on the 5.18.1 so far?

I've got the small 2004 kindle 11 and the first scribe. Apparently, it's not on either. Not listed in the notes, or under Device>Options.

Bummer. I could use it on the smaller one.

It would require hardware support (e.g. accelerometer). It's interesting that this exists in the two models that now support it, normally that would be used for auto-rotate, and that feature doesn't exist for either of them.

Scribe does auto-rotate, so has an accelerometer, but given larger size and mass it might not work very well, or perhaps they are still working on it.

Oasis has accelerometer but is no longer getting updates.

I have a Colorsoft and it updated this afternoon. So far I’m not impressed. It works intermittently at best with a case on.

That would’ve been so much better. I’ve already turned it off. The tapping just feels like more work for me to do since it’s so inconsistent for me. I don’t touch my CS 99% of the time because I don’t hold it and I read with a page turner. When I do have to hold it I can’t see it being natural because of how I have to hold it. It worked best for me without my case, but I’m never going case-less just for this feature.

I’d much rather have auto-rotate. That’d be so nice for graphic novels and manga!

I am underwhelmed too. Without a case it seems to be inconsistent. Why not a single tap? Taping on the back, if one was reading at night trying to not disturb one's bedmate, is much worse than the glorious, quiet, Oasis buttons.
