Confused about recent changes to Edit Metadata window

In the Edit metadata window, I can no longer type in the Series field, as in it accepts a single character and then stops allowing input.

It used to allow me to type in the first few characters and then have a drop down list of matching series names, or it would let me type in the full Series name.

Now it only allows a single letter and then I have to arrow down through a very long list. Is this the expected behavior or am I experiencing a bug?

I'm not seeing that.

What platform are you running calibre on?

Thanks! It sounds like it's not an expected behavior. Which is good to know.

I'm running on Windows 10. I just upgraded 8.4 to 8.5, although I had the issue in both.
I guess I can do a complete uninstall/re-install.

Went ahead and did the full uninstall/reinstall. It seems to be working. If it starts doing it again, I'll post back here. Thanks for the assist!
