Possible interruption of Libby etc.

Apparently, Institute of Museum and Library Services will be dismantled. This includes funding for interlibrary loans and Libby. The main effect, as far as Libby is concerned, is less money immediately available to libraries to rent ebooks through Libby. Longer wait times, fewer ebooks/audiobooks available.

I would surmise other digital services like Kanopy, Hoopla, etc. would be similarly affected. These are for-profit companies but to extent that their income includes federal money, fewer libraries will be able to afford them.

States could presumably allocate money for it, but many might fail to do so.

Since it's not specified anywhere here, this applies to the USA, not to libraries and Libby users elsewhere.

I fully expect my state to not allocate more funding, seeing as how the republicans in charge have been actively hostile to libraries here.
