Is there a model that's exports highlights well?

I'm having lots of trouble with my Kobo Libra Colour (see here).

Is there a different brand or model that would be great for someone who wants to download/export their highlights? Does an ereader exist that makes that a main priority?

Thanks!

Kobo is best. But you need to type them. I've used many makes/ models.

I've used/had seven models of Kobo:
Original Aura HD H20
2nd hand Kobo Touch
Nia
Original Libra
Original Elipsa
Sage
Libra 2

We have still, in the wider family:
5 x Sage
1 x Nia
1 x Aura H2O
1 x original Libra
1 x Libra 2
1 x original Elipsa

The old Touch "died". A 6th Sage was left behind at a summer camp.

Users age 8 to 73. We started with various kindles, some people in wider family are still on Kindles.

No complaints or issues.

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean, "need to type them"?

Also, was this in response to my question about highlights? I didn't see anything about highlighting mentioned.

Most e-readers use proprietary formats for things, so if you're able to export your Kobo highlights in a satisfactory way using Calibre, that's probably the best you can hope for. As I said in the original thread, you should exchange your KLC for a replacement. Spontaneous factory resets are not normal at all. It sounds like you got faulty hardware.

Yes, select "highlights" by finger then optionally type notes. Don't use the pen, if your Kobo has & supports one. I make sure to not have too small a font & line space if doing a lot of high lighting.

It sounds like you have a faulty model or the database is corrupt (which can be often fixed by sign out and sign in). Make sure the "unread" titles have updated before disconnecting USB (at either end).

If using windows: disable write cache on external storage or USB.

I use Kobo Utilities and then copy/paste the bookmarks/highlights/annotations into a suitable text file.

Also you can edit the config file to add an extra menu item on the book context menu of export, which creates a text file that can be copied over USB.

Over the years on six different Kobo models I've never had the issues you have and export of bookmarks / highlights / notes is fine. Maybe 1000+ times.
