Unable to connect to server from any device
This is maddening. I am running windows 11. I have calibre 7.26.0. I activated the content server and put it on port 8083. I don't want to have access outside my home wifi network, just inside. I can connect to the server with a browser on the PC itself but with any other device on my home network, "The site can't be reached". Looking at the logs in calibre, it says the content server is listening on 192.168.1.100 port 8083 by http. I have turned off my PC firewall and antivirus but this didn't help. My PC is in a DMZ inside my home network so shouldn't be blocked off by my home router. I have also tried placing the devices I want to connect to it with in my DMZ as well. Nothing is working. How do I set this up so I can access my calibre content AT HOME ON MY LOCAL NETWORK? I don't care about WAN access.

You may need to clarify what you mean by "My PC is in a DMZ inside my home network" as this seems to be a major issue given the role of a DMZ. Example definition "In computer networks, a DMZ, or demilitarized zone, is a physical or logical subnet that separates a local area network (LAN) from other untrusted networks -- usually, the public internet". In general, without some port forwarding stuff, a server of PC in a DMZ is not meant to have open access to the main local area network. Sorry if you know this and have some other reason to do this but it just seems unusual and would normally isolate the PC from the rest of the network as well as be a security risk big time.

Don't use DMZ for a start. That is for outside access!
You don't need any settings on router, except disable "WiFi Isolation" if the server is on WiFi. It ought to be on ethernet. Open a terminal/console window on other than the server and ping 192.168.1.100 If that doesn't work on your LAN the "server" isn't really 192.168.1.100 or has two interfaces. |

Mine is hosted on a raspberry pi so not sure if I can help - should be many who can. The only thing I would suggest is you make sure that the IP of the PC on your local network is correct, especially as you mention that the IP is the same after moving from the DMZ. Was your DMZ the same subnet as your local network? perhaps you had a static IP set when on the DMZ and it is either not the same or a conflict with the local subnet - this is all just speculation so take it with a grain of salt.

192 is a Internal, non-routable IP (10 is another common one) Then from outside (WAN) you need to use your routers IP:8083 |

Theducks, the OP is not trying to access from outside his local network but within it.

The thread title is "Unable to connect to server from any outside device" But reading the first post it does appear that is not what the OP meant. I'll remove the 'outside'. BR |

The Windows Firewall is only needed if you have a direct internet connection, like a built-in mobile/cell modem. |
