How import cover to calibre automatically from ebook?
Hi all,
I'm new here and have a question, I've been searching for a long time but haven't found a solution: Hundred of my ebooks (epub) have a Picture inside on first site. Is it possible to import this picture as cover in calibre autonatically? As workaround I open the ebook and put the pic with mouseover to the coverplace, that works fine, but is a bit boring for almost 700 ebooks:-( TIA, chris |

Very easy:
Select the books you want to import covers from. Then: Edit Metadata > Edit Metadata in bulk > Basic Metadata > Change Cover > Set from ebook files |

Hi Orinoco, thank you for your help. Yesterday (and the weeks before) I tested this option, but it doesn't work. Today I think, I've found a little bug. All my tries doesn't work, till I tested today with a selection more as one: it works. When I select just one title, this option doesn't work:-( thx, Chris

You asked about batch changing. If you only have one title you can try another approach: On the right side there is a panel with book details. At the top it displays the cover (if set) and below displays book metadata. Under the metadata "Formats" there is a list of available formats. Right click on the format containing your desired cover and then "Set the book cover from the EPUB file" (assuming that the EPUB contains your cover). Done

Quote:
In the normal MDE screen: Select the desired (source to use) format in the box on the right: click the blue cover icon just to the left. |
