No line-height yet the line spacing is stuck

In this book, the main paragraphs I cannot change the line spacing on my Kobo. But there's no line-height except the one on .toc (which isn't used for the main paragraphs).

I attached a scrambled ePub as its copyrighted.

Any idea?

Do a restart, just in case? Sometimes it helps.

I didn't see anything relevant in the css either.

I'll trying sending it as a kepub and see what it looks like.

Edit:

I sent it as a kepub using the latest source for calibre 7.26 (7.26.101*) and ticking Use Kobo viewer for EPUB books.

The line spacing slider worked. See images. Other than the secondary font line, they are pretty much identical to the epub version.

I'm wondering if you are injecting any CSS into the kepub during the conversion on the fly when sending it to your Kobo. You might want to grab the .kepub.epub back and take a look at the CSS in it (both the style sheets and any styles in the text files.

This is a copy loaded from the Kobo store. Is there a way to view the file for that?

I downloaded a sample of the book and will take a look at it if it is not DRMmed.

In the kobo.css file, we see:

This is from the copy synced to my ereader.

I just tried reading that copy and it does not allow me to change the line spacing in the chapters but I can change the line spacing in the front matter 03 (the one that starts Dear Hannah Fans) for example. The line height also occurs several times in the kobo.css, at the end is:

OTOH, looking at the scrambled copy, I'm not sure you got there from the copy I obtained via a sync with Kobo. The one from Kobo is a dog's breakfast, IMNSHO. The 3 CSS files are in 3 different locations for instance.

The difference may be due to syncing it to my Kobo which delivers Kobo's kepub while it sounds as if you clicked on the ... menu and downloaded from there.

On yet another hand, your copy has a lot fewer files than my copy in the bm section. Did you get the 25th Anniversary edition?

That is the same edition as I have according to Kobo's web page. Weird and wonderful.

Did you sync it to your Kobo ereader or did you download and sideload?

So the one on your Kobo is likely the same as mine while the one you downloaded would be the epub flavour.
