Calibre Will No Longer Add Books

Running Windows 11 23H2 with Calibre version 7.26.0. When I click on "Add Books" the "busy" icon comes up for a couple of seconds, then disappears and nothing happens. No error messages, just nothing. I've tried re-starting the program, rebooting my computer, repairing the program, uninstalling the program and rebooting computer and then re-installing the program. Still won't work. Thanks for any help.

Is it possible the Add Books popup is popping onto a second monitor even if no longer attached? After you click on Add Books, does clicking on a book in the library do anything or just generate a bong sound? If you shrink calibre to say, half screen and try Add Books, can you grab the calibre windows title bar and drag it around the screen?

Try running calibre in Windows Safe Mode Safe, if that works it's some 3rd party program that runs at startup getting in the way, probably an AV or another 'security' gadget.

Try restarting with no optional plugins, there's an option in the Preferences drop down menu

Use Task Manager to see what child processes calibre has running, click the right pointing arrow, viz:

Thanks for the suggestions. There is definitely something weird going on with my system. When I try to open Defender or some other Windows system programs, they will not open. Nothing happens.

I booted into Safe mode and everything worked. Calibre opened the Add Books dialogue and Defender also opened. I am not running any third-party AV programs.

Ok, it appears Stardock WindowBlinds is the problem.
