KOBO Libra colour - Mac OS - ADE registration.

Hi - Hoping someone might be able to help as Im slowly loosing the will to live!

MacBook Pro running Sequoia. I have returned to Kobo following a stint with Kindle. I have previously run Adobe Digital Editions on the laptop and my old Kobo.

However I can't get ADE to register the new Kobo or de register the laptop to start again. I get - Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:
E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12 when I try to open a book,

'please try another time' when I try to de register to reinstall and a similar message when I try to register the new Kobo.

I have followed all the advice from Kobo CS which is to uninstall and reinstall. I have done this three times. I have also cleared the cache on the Mac book.

Googling this it seems its not uncommon but I have as yet to find a solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Are you sure your username and password are correct? It sounds like your encryption key is wrong, so it can't decrypt the books.

I started getting similarly cryptic errors on ADE under Linux Mint. I eventually gave up and switched to using the Calibre ACSM plugin, which might be the better option for you, as well.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I have got to the bottom of it - I think. I’m running Sequoia and there are compatibility issues with ADE and Sequoia.
I found reference to a .dat file stored in the ADE library file. I deleted that and it allowed to me to re register. At the moment it is working but I will look at the Calibre plug in, thank you.

In case anyone else has this issue there are hidden files in the library on Mac. To get to the hidden section I went to Finder, Go to, ~library and there I found the Adobe file and in that Digital Editions. If you just go to the Library icon in finder you won’t see it. Hope this helps someone.
