Converting mhtml files
If Calibre does not support mhtml files, is there a format that I can first convert them into which retains all the text/image content in one file and is supported by Calibre?

Just convert your mhtml into multiple html files, you can convert multiple html files as a single book in calibre, as described here: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...specific-order
