PB632 (Touch HD3) Sleepcover not working

Hello,

I have a new cover for my PB632 which should put my e-reader to sleep when closing. But this function does not work. I mentioned a magnet in the cover (on left bottom corner when closed) but apparently it doesn't do anything.
Can anyone help me with this issue maybe?

Try a fridge magnet on the bottom-left corner of the device (above home button). Does that trigger the sleep mode?

A fridge magnet works on my HD3 to put it into sleep mode. Sounds like the issue may be with the device rather than the cover.,

I have verse pro. I found a great bookcover but it was for another device, as the magnet was in a different spot. I tested with a fairly strong magnet from the garage to prove the sleep mode worked---it did. So I thought I could just glue a small flexible magnet (one designed for fridge art). It was just not strong enough. Next I found a strong magnet strip (not sure for what) that worked. So I taped it to the bottom right of the cover and it worked just fine.

The cover I got was a COBAK brand for $3 (new) at a thrift store. Reader fits just fine. I guess it was designed for older edition of Kindle and I was lucky the Verse Pro had the same dimensions.
