If you right-click on the "Remove Books" icon and select "Restore Recently Deleted", you will see a list of books that you can recover.

Not helpful if I am looking at an old library that has long since been deleted, but the trash folder is still there

Found a Solution: Created a New library from the old one that has the deleted books (it's actually an entire library's worth of books - but it seems that I need the books now) when I got to the library, obviously the deleted books are no longer able to be restored - the trash has been emptied. Closed Calibre. Opened explorer, and restored the library from backup shadow copy. Opened Calibre and the trash has been restored, and I restored the books.

When you delete a library its path is removed from the list of 'known' libraries in calibre's configuration data… but it is NOT physically deleted from your computer.

It was supposed to hold my books that I am comparing to my amazon list of purchased books, but I deleted it mistakenly in the past. I didn't have it in me to redo the library from scratch.
