Where to buy a Kobo with postal strike starting today

I finally chose a Kobo and when I went to Kobo's website to purchase it, the Canadian Postal Service is on strike starting today, 11/15/2024. People with street addresses in Canada will get their delivery first, and people with Canadian P.O. boxes are out of luck because there will be "no sorting of mail or parcels and some post offices will be closed".

https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/categ...-Kobo-eReaders

It does not say what will happen to other countries' orders. Like U.S. orders.

The weird thing is that none of the main pages on their website mention it. I found it on the HELP page.

I also noticed that Kobos are not sold with a power adapter. Just a cable.

How do I charge it? Kobo sells the 10V power adapter but they are out of stock.

I guess I can use a power bank? I do not understand batteries. How much is too much for charging electronic devices? Watts? Volts? Amps? Etc.

I can buy Kobos at Walmart and BlueProton (Amazon), but if they are directly ordered from Kobo, then it may take a while to get my order. I have no idea if Walmart or Amazon warehouses have them in stock.

Maybe I should wait for Black Friday.

You can charge it from your computer - just plug it in a USB-port.

I charge my Libra 2 from the USB-A port on my couch. I also charge it with my USB-C port on my multi-socket adapter. I also charge it with my 100 watt PD USB charger. It also gets some charge when I plug it into the USB-C port on the laptop to either add books or do something with it.

I've not had any problem charging it.

I finally figured out the multiple quotes thingy!

Ok. That will work until I get the power adapter.

Great. Thanks. I have a wireless recharging platform that I forgot about. It has a USB port and I have an adapter for the C to A port.

I think Indigo.CA means Canada, not California, so they would be having the strike. Maybe it won't last long.

Yes but they might have other shipping options besides Canada post

I used Indigo to order my Aura H2O and it did come in the mail (US). So my guess is they used the Canadian post to US post.

Maybe Walmart and Amazon have the Kobos at their warehouses already. Both are bad at giving a delivery date, then changing it. Maybe I can email Kobo and ask.

I ordered the Sage from Kobo's website. It took only 5 working days to get here. It was ordered on a Saturday and delivered by USPS on the next Saturday.

So now, I am reading about how to sideload books to it.

Thanks, everyone.
