How to change the text orientation in a epub

Is it in all ereaders or just that particular ereader? Maybe the ereader has a rotate setting and you have it locked to landscape mode?

Have you checked the code for the book? Possibly there is the following code in use somewhere...

.rotate {
transform: rotate(90deg);
}

Otherwise, we'd need to see the book

Not sure if this might be related to your problem but I once purchased an ebook that used only landscape orientation. Turned out in the opf document's metadata section, the creator has used:

Code:

<meta property="rendition:orientation">landscape</meta>

which I had thought was only for fixed layout but seemed to affect the reflowable epub I had.
