More (device) options on Kobo than Pocketbook?

I have been testing a kobo libra 2 and a Pocketbook Era extensively side by side for a few days now, and there are some things I noticed that are making my picking a favorite rather difficult, specifically when it comes to koreader:

I notice the PB Era draining battery faster than the Kobo, and in the end noticed there is a difference in the available device settings. The Kobo allows me to set not only a sleep mode but also an autosuspend mode, from which the device wakes up as snappy as a sleep mode, whereas I don't see any of these options on the PB Era, having only sleep and power off, which makes it take a while to boot up and makes it less than practical to pick up and read.

Is this a limitation on koreader's integration with Pocketbook or am I missing a setting that the installation on the kobo makes "automatic"?

The tl;dr is that PocketBook integration is slightly worse, but it's unclear to what extent it can actually improve because it can't be done directly.

That was an interesting read. I thought PB was more open than Kobo but it seems that there’s middleware involved in communicating with the device. This makes me reconsider my leaning towards PB since my first consideration when choosing a device is integration with koreader. I can’t use anything else anymore after experiencing koreader.

If only Kobo readers could fully integrate with KOReader. Being able to use the Era library to open my books is very nice.
