Closing out of the error Calibre does not open but is still running in the background calibre, version 7.3.0 ERROR: Startup error: There was an error during calibre startup. One quick and dirty fix would be to uninstall calibre and delete the calibre install folder.

Those errors indicate a corrupted metadata.db file in your calibre library folder. Delete it and calibre should start with an empty metadata.db. You can then restore your books by clicking the calibre icon on the toolbar and using library maintenance->restore database

Thanks kovidgoyal. I had just come back on here to post that seemed to be the issue. I deleted the metadata.db and was able to open Calibre
