Has something changed with Kobo ascm download?

I’m not sure which forum to ask this in, so if there’s a better place please point me to it. Although I also have and use a Kobo Libra, I most often download Kobo books on to use on my Pocketbook device or app (which have my Adobe DRM account installed) because they do text to speech. I’ve previously just been able to use the Kobo download feature and the ascm file fulfilled seamlessly in the app or on the device. Now that is giving me a fulfilment error. Downloads from Libby still work, so has something changed with Kobo? Thanks. (I can still download and transfer via ADE on a laptop but I used to be able to do it instantly in my phone.)

Can you give the exact wording of the error message? Are you using the same Adobe account on both devices? If not, the first used will work, the second will not.

I’m using the same Adobe account and following the same procedure I have for the two years since I got the Pocketbook. I’ll get a shot of the error message. I tried with a ascm download from a few weeks back, and it worked, and the Libby ascm still works. It’s just the recent ones from Kobo.

What happens if you use either the DeACSM plugin with calibre or Adobe Digital Editions?

Using ADE 2.0.1 for Windows, I was able to download an ePub from Kobo.

I don’t have the DeASCM plug-in but Adobe Digital Exitions works fine and transfers the files to my pocketbook as normal. No issues there but of course that means I have to use a laptop, which I don’t have with me out and about. The way I used to do it made it as easy to use the Kobo store with my phone and Pocketbook as is to use a kindle - sit in a coffee shop, buy a book, download it to the device and be reading in half a minute.

I’m using Tapatalk to write this and can see the images so that is rather confusing. But I presume you mean that it isn’t showing up on the browser interface that you are using? I’ll see if I can do something later on the computer. As you can see from this thread, my issue is largely because I don’t have constant access to a computer.

On the Pocketbook iPhone app:
Error the server did not return a valid fulfilment result
Error fulfilment is not yet completed

On the pocketbook device:
X Download was aborted (E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT).

From Adobe's site:

E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT

This error occurs during fulfillment if ADE is not happy with the response from the server, meaning, it received neither an <error> nor a fulfillmentResult token. This is an error with the distributor's server and nothing you can fix yourself.

Basically, your Pocketbook app/ereader are not able to understand the responses the server is sending. Given that you say other apps work, this would appear to be a Pocketbook issue.

On a different note, please use the paperclip tool or the Manage Attachments button to attach images. Too many sites do not work when trying to open the image link from a third party site.

Thank you, but in that case why would it only be Kobo that causes a problem and not other ascm downloads? And why now after so long working? That was why I wondered if Kobo had changed something. Thank you for the information about attaching photos.
