Move library from macOS to Windows 11

Wondering if there is any easy way to move my library and all metadata, etc. from a macOS to a Win11 PC? I'm not sure how settings, plugins, metadata, etc. are stored on the mac but I'm guessing it involves PList files which obviously don't work on the PC.

Thank you for that. So there is no file type used on Mac that can't be moved to Windows?

You Move the LIBRARY (and configuration), not the app.
You install Calibre Windows, then move, the Library

I finally got around to giving this a try, but I'm getting the following error:

calibre, version 7.0.0
ERROR: Not valid: The folder C:\Users\matte\Downloads\Calibre is not valid: The exported data in ._part-0001.calibre-data is not valid, version (469769983) is higher than maximum supported version. You might need to upgrade calibre first.

I'm guessing this is because I'm going from macOS to Windows? I made sure my Mac was updated to 7.0.0 before I did the export and the windows version was installed just a few minutes ago, so it should be the lastest version. Any ideas?

You may have found a bug if both were C7 . That tool is supposed to work across OS.

FWIW - I've used calibre's Export/Import to move calibre from MacOS to Windows more than once, without any issues.

However, I used a portable HDD freshly formatted as exFat on the Macs as the transfer media. Would have been calibre versions 5 and 6, and Windows 10, but I can't recall Mac OS versions.

I've done the same for Windows to MacOS using the same portable drive freshly formatted as exFat on the Mac.

That number indicates a corrupted file. Do the export again, and make sure the data files arent corrupted during transport.

Ok, I've tried to do the export/import again and am getting the same error. I followed the advice above and made sure the drive I'm using to transfer files was freshly formatted. Anything else I can try?

Nope. I dont see how its possible to get that error with the steps you describe. In any case, you can always move things manually, just remember to run check library and fix any errors afterwards.

Cancel that. I was actually able to get it working. Seemed like I had the files nestled one layer too deep in a folder and it didn't like that. Moved them up one level and it worked fine. Thanks for all the help to all of you!
