Can't launch Calibre

Suddenly when I click on Calibre from the Windows Start Menu, nothing happens. I have tried everything listed here:

including uninstalling, rebooting, disabling antivirus, removing the library, and installing various versions. Nothing has helped.

When I run calibre-debug.exe -g in a command window, I get this
calibre 6.27 embedded-python: True
Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE')
('Windows', '10', '10.0.19045')
Python 3.10.1
Windows: ('10', '10.0.19045', 'SP0', 'Multiprocessor Free')
Interface language: None

I don't know if any of that means anything. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to get Calibre running again on my PC?

Try running calibre from the command window with the --ignore-plugins option

See ==>> calibre --ignore-plugins

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but nothing happened. In the process of trying to fix this, I uninstalled my original setup, and reinstalled it without any plugins. I tried going to the latest version, as well as going back quite a few versions, but still, I get nothing.

is calibre.exe in task manager after you run it?
