Single author with "and" in name
Is there a way for Calibre to keep a single author name with the word "and" in it instead of automatically changing it to two separate names separated by the "&"?
For example, the author name is "Boots and Cats" but when adding their books to Calibre it changes to authors "Boots" & "Cats". |

There is always an outlier that will bite us.I know I have to hand correct Joe and Jane Smith -Joe Smith & Jane Smith (now 2 properly named authors) in the Metadata editor. can you fix it there or is it auto corrected. Another idea is change and to _and_ (not horrific visually)

It is autocorrected when I change it in the metadata editor. I also tried to change it in the tag browser but it also autocorrects.

I was afraid of that. (the parsing code is probably shared and tha makes sense as you may use the tag browser to fix any run together names ) Then try my Plan 2: _and_ |

I think I found it. There's a tweak for Splitting multiple author names. I edited to remove "and" from it and it seems to have solved it.

I edited the tweak, edited the specific author in question, and then reverted the tweak back and it kept that one author how I wanted it instead of autocorrecting back.

Boots and Cats sounds like a waste as an author's name. Make a nice title.
A little change from "Puss in Boots". |

I've found the using the + (Plus) sign works good for those instances of company names in the author field where I don't want it split. For example Johnson and Johnson in my library is Johnson + Johnson. Might be easier to cope with.
