Can't find an answer to this question: can i use a non-backed-up library
I got a new laptop recently. I forgot to use the Calibre backup function to save the library on my old laptop. Instead, in a hurry, I just saved the library folder to an external hard drive.
Is it possible to use the saved library folder to create a new library on my new laptop. If so, how? The saved library folder contains the original structure and meta data files (data Base File and JSON File). Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks! |

Copy the folder to where you want it, and then use the Library Switch/create tool to register it as an existing library, then switch to it.
That won't restore plugins and global settings - if you have the old computer you could move them across - see third para of ==>> How do I backup calibre? BR |
