Introduction
Hello. My name is Scott Bury. I am an author and an editor, and I have used Calibre for over 10 years. I'm happy to see some of the improvements to the conversion apps. I am a little dismayed, though, by the limitations of the reader.
I have used Calibre for my own books, including [....] I also have a question about conserving typography in epub formats: in a book I edited and formatted, the author wanted a three-line drop cap at the beginning of each chapter. In Word, it looks fine (although MS separates the cap into a floating text box). But in Calibre, even when I disable font size rescaling, the drop cap is notably smaller and placed one line too low. Anyone have a solution? Last edited by issybird; 09-12-2023 at 12:44 PM. Reason: Deleted spammish content which should go elsewhere. |

Hello and welcome to MobileRead!
Have you tried editing those dropcaps in the calibre editor? |
