Any use for a K1?

I've got a Kindle 1 (serial starts with B0 01) with firmware 1.2.1. Is there any use for it these days? Can it be hacked to read EPUBs? It doesn't seem to get a network connection anymore (3G shutdown if I had to guess), so it can't be activated. Any help in saving some tech from the dumpster is appreciated!

You can convert epub to mobi. Unless it can run KOReader, it can't do epubs.

The K3 later got the "goodness" of azw3/KF8, but the DXG that was released slightly later didn't because it was really a DX (like a K2 but big) with a new screen. I suspect too little RAM. I'd be surprised if K2, DX or DXG is supported with KOReader, though likely they have more RAM than a K1?
The DXG was the worst ereader I ever bought. The S/H K3 I got when my son upgraded to a PW4 is far better.

The DX was just as bad as the original iPad. The original iPad has too little ram and a lot of apps did not work (crashed or didn't start) because of this even though they supported the version of iOS the iPad ran.

The DX was a disaster. Too little ram, too slow a processor, not enough storage, and too expensive.
