I have made my own template for a cover, is it possible to set it as default if I tell calibere to create an over

Not sure what you are asking. Long click that button, choose customize styles, at the bottom of the customize dialog is a checkbox asking you if you want to save your changes as the default. If you mean you have created your own template as an image, then no.
