Data files condition for Look & Feel options?

Has anyone figured out a condition that will trigger a custom icon or custom color under Prefs/Look and Feel?

I really need something more than just the field "Folders:Book Files, Data Files" showing in Book Details as the only clue Data Files exist.

The combos I've attempted for the conditions just don't return anything.

Path is the field name. After looking at actual paths I've tried:
path contains \data
path contains data

But neither trigger the icon. I cannot figure out what else to type. "path" is the field name based on what I see in Book Detail options for viewing it.

Unfortunately, it also doesn't work as a search either such as path:true or path:data to see entries with data files.

Any input is appreciated.

Ok, BR.. I need a little hand hold on this...I think if I figure this out with your help, I will be going though your referenced page trying many things....

I have used the has_extra_files([pattern]) in 2 locations, at least how I think it's used. That may very well be the problem. I've tried:

Prefs/L&Feel/Cust.Icons....Condition...matches pattern... then put in the field " has_extra_files([data]) " RESULT: ...nothing
Same thing but only " has_extra_files " in the field. RESULT: nothing kind of as expected.

I've tried Advanced search/Template Search:
TemplateValue: has_extra_files([pattern])

TempValue: data with Template: has_extra_files([pattern])

TempValue: (nothing here) with Template: has_extra_files

....and variations of this as well as with the Comparison Type field....

None of my attempts are giving my anything related to entries with Data Files.

Obviously, I'm new to this part and could use extra direction. I have tried. As I've stated before, the help docs I'm sure are good, but it's still like jumping into the middle of the textbook and not knowing where you need to go back to start to learn. (If you want to apply Trigonometry & Pre-calc, you have to understand triangles. But if you don't know that's where you need to start......) I have tried. Any extra direction is appreciated

If you want to use a template search, here is the code @chaley provided in this topic:

Just copy and paste the whole code above on the search bar.

Now, if you want to use a 'Column icon', this is how you do it:

Preferences > Look & feel > Column icons : Add advanced rule



In the new dialog opened:

1) Chose the column you want to display the icon
2) Select the icon from the dropdown menu and press the copy button next to it (you will need this on the code below)
3) If the icon you want is not there, you need to add it ('Add icon' button).
4) Use this template:

program:
	if has_extra_files()
		then 'ok.png'
	fi

5) Replace 'ok.png' with the icon name you copied in step 2
6) Click OK, then Apply

Now, in the library view, you will see an icon on the column you chose when the book has one or more extra files.

I was searching Data Files topics...didn't know Extra Files is more accurate until these answers were provided.
Even tagged my post as Data Files..
