Send-to-Kindle from Mac problem?

I have a KV, and use send-to-kindle from Mac running Big Sur top transfer books in ePub format. The files go through just fine, and show up on the Kindle as .azw3 as expected, but when I connect my KV to the Mac and launch Calibre, the books I've sent do not show up in the Calibre "on device" column.
Any suggestions?

Send them using the USB cable not send to kindle. Or if you must then right click ont he book in the device view in calibre and use the match to library book function to tell calibre which library book it corresponds too.

Thanks for the quick response! The "match book" function works well.

Send using the USB cable also works, however I prefer the S-2-K as then the book is stored in my Amazon library.

That's Amazon's Server. Your real Library is Calibre and backup of it.

If you VALUE your books, you want to KEEP YOUR OWN COPY.
Calibre is a GREAT way.

Things happen and the place you bought them from can:
Just Belly up (or the Author passes)
Lose the rights to distribute a Book/Author

3 of the stores I bought books from since I got my first reader (and joined MR), are just gone. Another's Author-Owner has heath + server issues and suspended service.

One no longer allows PURCHASES of some titles, but I can still download those I previously bought

Authors and Publishers. PLEASE have a succession plan in place. Health issues can unfortunately, rear their ugly head at anytime

Too right - however I find the Amazon server useful for whispersync and getting books onto my tablet/phone when the KV is at home...

A very good reason to use Calibre as your library!
