How to transfer new title of a book to device

Hi!

I have a book that I'm reading already in my Kindle device. In Calibre I have modified the title and the cover of the book. When I connect the Kindle to Calibre, the cover is synchronized but not the title. What I would expect is to see in the device the same title I see in Calibre, but that's not happening. I have tried several things with no success.

Could someone tell me how can I effectively change the title in the device and not only in Calibre with no need to delete it and send it again? Thanks!

Reconnecting your Kindle triggers calibre to update the cover thumbnail images for sideloaded books. That is done to work around a problem where the Kindle will sometimes remove those images when it connects to Amazon’s servers. They are stored in a thumbnail cache on the Kindle separate from the book files. That action by calibre has a coincidental side effect of updating the cover thumbnail if you have changed it.

To change anything else, such as the title, author, or cover actually contained inside of the book you have to delete to old book from your Kindle and send the new one.

Okay, I see. And there is any way to keep the progress of the book and the marks? I don't want to lose that information.

The last reading position and annotation information are contained in files within a folder on your Kindle having the same name as the main book file with ".sdr" added to it. You might be able to transfer that information from the old book to the new one by making a copy those files before you delete the old book and transferring them to the equivalent folder for the new book. I don't guarantee that will work.

In addition if you use "My Clippings" you can edit it manually to change the title there.
