Updating file size

I've noticed that when I reduce the size of a PDF in Acrobat and then overwrite the file in its Calibre folder, where it is the only file (apart from cover and metadata), the file size in the library display doesn't update (41MB there) even though in the metadata window does and is correct (6MB). Is there a way to get the library display to match?

The Quality Check plugin does this. Use Fix / Check and repair book sizes.

Or better dont overwrite the file in the calibre folder. Instead right click the add books button and choose add files to selected book records and add your updated file like that. Then the size column will be automatically updated.

Since you are seeing the book details view, drop the modified book in there. This will keep the database in step with the books.
