I use calibre to sort all the literature I hoard, whether it's epub, pdf, cbz... well I guess that's it lol.

I'm here because I use calibre frequently and wanted to contribute to the community and I want to learn how to use calibre more effectively. It's such a powerful program with so many features to discover.

I made an account because I just found the plugin Extract People & Other Metadata (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=351299) and used it to extract Ao3 links from the epubs I downloaded, though I'm not sure if I did it the best way. (I have been intentionally avoiding fanficfare). Thought it would be good to share if anyone else needed.

here is my mind dump of calibre behavior I noticed:
some Ao3 authors have a working authors's link but others don't
when importing on macos the calibre icon duplicates and bounces around the dock
another calibre ebook-viewer icon appears in dock for each window, unlike other applications
the virtual library button cannot be moved from next to the search bar
