library problem
Hi there
I got a new e-reader and I opened Calibre with it connected. Calibre allowed me to import all the books from my earlier library. All the books successfully imported into the new e-reader but I don't have the original e-book files any more. Is there some way to extract the books from my new e-reader and create a new library from them? They are all on the new e-reader and readable but there doesn't seem to be a folder with the original files in it on my computer. ![]() |

PRS-530 works fine with my Calibre, though I changed the driver setting to create collections on the device from the "Collections" column I use for a Kobo, rather the default Tags column.

With calibre open, and the ereader connected, select all the books on the ereader. Then right click and one of the options should be to import the files on the reader into your current library.

The Sony Reader uses Series and Tags for collections. And (IMHO), I see no reason not to use them as thy were originally intended instead of creating new columns to duplicate what already exists.

I added the preference in the Sony driver to choose the "collection columns" at least 10 years ago, including the "All by author" and "All by title" special collections. There are many reasons to use one's own column. I did until my two 350's died a few years ago.
